This is a great place to go on a day when the weather is good. We took a picnic and sat in Princess Beatrice's Garden. There is a room in the gatehouse where you can try on armour and a long dress mirror so you can have a look at yourself! Very amusing! The grounds are truly beautiful, and the Wall Walk *is* possible with a small buggy (the umbrella folding type). You could spend hours in the museum looking at all the old artefacts. There are also talks and demonstrations with the donkeys in the Wellhouse. The views from the shell keep are fantastic too! There are toilets with a baby changing facilities (plastic pull down one) and a souvenir shop. Some things are quite expensive, but on the whole this place is great for an educational day out. The younger children may get a little bored in the museum: I on the other hand could have spent all day in there. And a word of warning: do not let them go past the ropes around Charles I's bed, because the alarm will go off!***** KB
